Our Music Program is designed to encourage a studentís natural creativity and imagination. Students naturally discover their love for music and movement and are given the platform to express themselves both musically and creatively. The main objective is to capture the studentís potential to learn through music, to encourage cognitive and literacy skills, creativity, and individuality. Students learn about rhythm, singing, dancing and composers. They are exposed to a variety of musical styles which include childrenís music, classical, folk, jazz, cultural, and current popular pieces.

Upper Elementary Students (Grades 4 - 6) receive formal lessons in music theory and are introduced to a variety of percussion instruments.

We also offer private guitar lessons.

French as a second language is offered to all students in JK - Grade 8.  Vocabulary with an emphasis on conversational French will be practiced throughout the program. Students will learn through manipulatives and song.

Our Art Program is designed to stimulate and develop the artistic qualities and creative thinking within each student.

It is our goal to enhance the artistic nature within each child, and to teach an appreciation and awareness of the various art forms that surround us. Through specific art instruction, students develop a sense of craftsmanship, quality task performance, and pride in their work. Children are exposed to a variety of art forms that include mosaic art, working with clay, drawing, painting, shape art, patterns, and pastel art. Naturally, the children discover an appreciation for art and realize they, too, can be creative and artistic.

BMS students will demonstrate appropriate hand and eye co-ordination, follow instructions to glue, cut, and paint to complete arts and crafts-oriented activities, use various classroom materials to independently create art, and experiment with different art media.
